Ep 1: I Guess we’re starting a Podcast!
So this is really happening… we started a podcast and couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. We honestly don’t really know what we’re doing, we simply know that it feels right and filling a piece of our hearts that needed to be filled.

This episode was actually our very first recording together, before we even knew that we would create our own show. It’s kind of a long story how it all came around but we’ll do our best to quickly summarize:
I (Emma), started a podcast over at my main business Emma Rose Company with the intention of doing what everyone else in the industry seems to be doing which is start a business podcast. I was all in and really excited about it but quickly realized that my heart simply wasn’t in it 100% as I’d hoped it would be. This didn’t become clear until I sat down with Andrea to record a little Sister Chat. The sister chats were an idea to simply bring my big sister on to talk about things that most of my listeners could relate to.
After that first recording (the one you’ll hear on this episode!), we were all in on the idea of making it our own podcast.
I scheduled the podcast to close at the end of the month to pursue a new endeavor. One that felt like a better fit.
We started the Truth Talk Podcast.
Here we are!
Let’s dive into the episode show notes!
Unlike some show notes for podcasts, ours will be pretty simple! We truly believe that the BEST experience you can have with following our show is to listen. Thanks for being here with us!
During our conversation about all things #momhood, Andrea opens up about the struggle she often faces in explaining the tough things in life to her kids.
For example, Andrea has three daughters – all blonde, as you can see. Their hair is always a topic of great discussion, causing quite a stir whenever they go out together as a family.
And then there’s Crosby…her sweet little brunette boy.
Just what do you say to your seven year old son when he asks why no one notices him?
Why no one comments on his hair? And why his mom (who colors her brunette hair blonde) doesn’t want her hair to look like his?
(I’m not crying, YOU’RE crying.)
In this episode we shed light on the realities of working from home and what that means.
“We are working around our children, and our priorities and all of our work efforts can sometimes seem to others like, ‘Oh, that’s not a big deal because she just works from home….’”
Moral of the story on this episode: managing a home is tough. Marriage is tough. But oh-man are we thankful for our husbands!
Last but not least, during our epic week (for some – two weeks) of family time spent over in Wenatchee, we had the honor of celebrating our Grandma’s 100th birthday!
There’s no arguing the fact that at 100 years old, our Grandma has seen A LOT of life. I mean, this lady has stories! (The crazy thing is, is that – at her age – she remembers them all).
In case you needed a spot of wisdom for your Wednesday, here’s a little something Andrea shared about our Grandma Barbara:
“The thing that sticks out to me about Grandma is that she has always been so patient, so kind, and so accepting...She never says something to stir the pot which I feel is so unlike me. I’m like, ‘Grandma, how do you do it?’ and she said, ‘Well, I have learned to just accept people the way that they are, to love them, and to always expect the best from them.”
